Study on Rosi and Gabi

An initial exploration of the connections between people and the land, which literally juxtaposes the faces of two of my loved ones with the lands to which they feel a deep sense of belonging. The logic behind this sense of belonging is called into question, since in one case it stems from their origins, while in the other it arises from a connection to the place that is unrelated to heritage. The vivid colors of the analog photographs printed on fine cotton fabric complement the translucent and subtle tones of the embroidery on tracing paper. This gentle union highlights the symbiosis between humans and nature, while also revealing the role that this environment plays in the development of identities.
